Pursuant <br />to County Charter Section 13-4(c), he can be re-appointed to his same position for an additional <br />full term. Therefore, it is my pleasure to renominate Benjamin M. Watai, Sr., of Council <br />District 8 to the County of Hawaii Transportation Commission. <br />Mr. Watai is a 72-year resident of Hawaii. He retired in 1985 as the superintendent of the <br />Keauhou Kona Golf Course, where he worked for 18 years. Mr. Watai's community service <br />includes membership on the Kealakehe Neighborhood Watch, and the Kealakehe Community <br />Association. He also currently serves as a disabled parking enforcement officer. <br />Mr. Watai states that he is a Democrat.
