<br />'. <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1 7 97 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />UNITED STATES OF AMERICA THROUGH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL, <br />PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A HAWAII VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN GRANT. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States of America through the State Department of <br />Attorney General, is desirous of providing funding for expenses to conduct initial <br />and refresher training in the areas of extrafamilial and intrafami1ial sexual and <br />physical abuse of children; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to proceed <br />with its obligations under the Violence Against Children Grant; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the <br />Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the County of Hawaii <br />providing the expenditures or receipt of funds or for other assistance; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />the Honorable Stephen K.
