REPORT OF THE <br />COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br />DATE: 1 /6/2009 <br />PLACE: Council Chambers <br />TIME: 1:03 p.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Re: Comm. No. 45 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 45, reports as follows: <br />Communication No. 45, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated December 15, 2008, <br />requests the confirmation of the appointment of Mr. William Takaba as Managing Director for <br />the County of Hawaii. <br />Mr. Takaba has served the County of Hawaii as Director of Finance from December 4, 2000 to <br />December 1, 2008. Prior to that he served as the Executive on Aging for the County's <br />Office of Aging and as Finance Director under Mayor Lorraine Inouye from 1990 to 1992. He <br />will serve a term co-terminus with Mayor Kenoi, which will end on December 3, 2012. <br />Pursuant to Article VI, Section 6-1.2, Hawaii County Charter, "The managing director shall be <br />appointed by the mayor, confirmed by the council and may be removed by the mayor.
