Summary of Service <br /> The program shall: 1) comply with the Dietary Guidelines for Ameicans, published by <br /> the Secreatires of the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of <br /> Agriculture; and 2) provide to each participating older individual, minimum 33 1/3% <br /> (1/3) of the daily Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDAs) as established by the Food <br /> and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences-National Research Council for <br /> persons aged 60 and over for each meal served. <br /> All menus shall be reviewed, evaluated and documented, at a minimum semiannually, by <br /> a registered dietician or credentialed nutrition professional toensure that nurtition <br /> standards are met. It is the responsibility of the nutrition service provider to ensure <br /> nutitional adequacy. Congregate participants wil have meals served at designated sites <br /> and home-delivered meals participants will be assessed for eligibility. <br /> II. Annual Service Levels <br /> Total number of persons served 1,500 <br /> a. Congregate meals participants 1,100 <br /> b. Home-delivered meals participants 400 <br /> Number of congregate meals 82,000 <br /> Number of home-delivered meals 63,000 <br /> Number of education/Training hours 200 <br />
