These projects, listed below with its appropriation amount, will be 100% funded <br />by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) stimulus monies, as shown on the State <br />Department of Transportation (DOT), Statewide transportation Program (STIP) Revision <br />#6 for the County of Hawaii. <br />ADA Curb Ramp Compliance Program, Mamalahoa Hwy, Waimea --- $1,000,000 <br />Kaiminani Drive (Rte 198) Resurfacing, 3.6 miles --- $6,000,000 <br />Kamehameha Avenue (Rte 1910) Resurfacing, Wailoa Bridge to Ponahawai Street, <br />--- $7,000,000 <br />Kawailani (Rte 2760)/Pohakulani /Ainaola (Rte 2750) &Kawailani (Rte 2760)/Iwalani <br />(Rte 2770) Intersection Improvements --- $2,500,000 <br />Palani Road/Kamakaeha Avenue Intersection Improvements --- $5,000,000 <br />The Department of Public Works is requesting to waive the Finance Committee and to have <br />this bill heard at the Council meeting scheduled for March 3, 2009, as these projects will be <br />subject to FHWA/DOT time constraints. Also, should the stimulus funding be approved for <br />these projects, the appropriations must be available. <br />If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Department of Public Works. <br />Nancy E.
