No. 198 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> TIME: 10:35 A.M. <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 55, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 55, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 60 by Finance Director Harry Takahashi, via <br /> Communication No. 198, dated March 4, 1997, authorizes the County of Hawaii to enter into an <br /> agreement with the United States of America for a local law enforcement block grant. <br /> The United States of America, through the U. S. Department of Justice Bureau of Justice <br /> Assistance, is desirous of providing funding to purchase a digital logging recorder and a <br /> playback recorder that will record all 9] 1 calls and monitor radio transmissions. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Federal government may enter into <br /> agreements with the Council of the County of Hawaii providing the expenditures or receipt of <br /> <br /> funds or for other assistance. The Mayor is hereby authorized and designated to sign in the <br /> name of the County Project number 96LBVX3395, which will effectuate these purposes. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 55 and <br /> <br /> recommends its adoption. <br /> <br /> lkc <br /> Ayex Nuex A&F.
