This appointment <br /> was effective March 2, 2009. <br /> Mr. Kurohara is a longtime Big Island small businessman, and the owner of the <br /> graphics and screen printing company Creative Arts Hawai'i LLC. He graduated <br /> from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa with a bachelor's degree in business <br /> administration. He is a former manager of his family's clothing business and graphic <br /> arts companies, which were Kurohara's Men's Clothing Stores and Creative Arts <br /> Hawai'i. <br /> Mr. Kurohara is incoming president of the Rotary Club of South Hilo, 2nd vice <br /> president of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hawai'i, and a <br /> board member with both the Hawai'i Island Chamber of Commerce and the Boys & <br /> Girls Club of the Big Island. He is also a deacon at the Kaumana Drive Baptist <br /> Church. <br /> <br /> Mr. Kurohara will serve a term co-terminus with my tenure, which will end <br /> December 3, 2012. <br /> Thank you for your favorable consideration of this appointment.
