MOORE PLANNING <br /> 159 HALAI STREET <br /> HILO, HAWAII 96720 <br /> (808) 935-0311/Fax (808) 934-0162 <br /> <br /> <br /> October 13, 1998 <br /> <br /> Virginia Goldstein, Director <br /> County of Hawaii <br /> Planning Department <br /> 25 Aupuni Street <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> <br /> Dear Ms. Goldstein: <br /> <br /> Subject: State Land Use Boundary Amendment Application (98-6) <br /> Change of Zone Application (REZ 98-22) <br /> Parker Ranch, Inc. <br /> TMK: 6-4-01: portion of 42 <br /> <br /> This is to acknowledge receipt of a copy of the letter dated September 30, 1998 from the State <br /> Land Use Commission regarding State Land Use Boundary Amendment from Agricultural to <br /> Urban and the Change of Zone application from A-5a to RS-10 and CV-7.5, Puukapu <br /> Homesteads, South Kohala, Hawaii Island. <br /> <br /> As you are aware, we recently received a boundary interpretation from the Land Use Commission <br /> that determined the boundary between the State Land Use "Agricultural" and "Urban" district. <br /> Based on this boundary interpretation, Engineers Surveyors Hawaii, Inc. calculated the total area <br /> proposed to be reclassified from "Agricultural" to "Urban" and prepared a metes and bounds <br /> description of this area, which totaled 4.613 acres. This metes and bounds description and <br /> <br /> accompanying map was transmitted to you on October 2, 1998. <br /> <br /> For your information, this area supercedes the earlier estimate of approximately 3.8 acres which <br /> was based on an estimation of the State Land Use boundary and calculation of the land area <br /> therein. While the actual area proposed to be reclassified to Urban has increased over the original <br /> estimate, we do no believe there is any change in impact resulting from the difference in acreage. <br /> <br /> Please call me if you have any questions on this matter. <br /> <br /> Sincerely, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> William L.
