According the applicant's <br /> <br /> report, there are no known historic, archaeological or cultural features on the site. <br /> <br /> There is no record in either the National or Hawaii Register of any sites on the <br /> property. <br /> <br /> 16. Flora and Fauna: Botanical Surveys conducted an inspection of the property and states <br /> that the vegetation covering the parcel is mostly entirely alien. The only small animal <br /> <br /> seen was the small bird Zosterops japonical (Japanese white eye). There were no rare, <br /> threatened, or endangered species of either flora or fauna. <br /> <br /> 17. FIRM: The subject property is located within Zone X, area determined to be outside <br /> the 500-year flood plain. <br /> <br /> 18. Surrounding Zoning/Land Uses: The surrounding area consists of a mixture of <br /> single-family residences and vacant lots. The zoning pattern in the vicinity is a mixture <br /> <br /> of Agricultural-1 acre (A-la) and Agricultural-5 acre (A-5). <br /> <br /> PUBLIC FACILITIES AND SERVICES <br /> 19. Access: Access to the site is off Mamalahoa Highway. Mamalahoa Highway is a two- <br /> <br /> lane County roadway which has a pavement width of 20 feet within a 40-foot right-of- <br /> way. <br /> <br /> 20. Wastewater System: The applicant proposes to use individual wastewater treatment <br /> systems meeting with the approval of the Department of Health for each of the newly <br /> <br /> created lots. <br /> 21. Utilities: Water, electrical and telephone service are available to the property. <br /> <br /> AGENCIES' COMMENTS <br /> 22. Police Department (August 14, 1998 Memo): <br /> <br /> "We have reviewed the above-referenced application and do not believe the request will <br /> negatively impact traffic safety or police services in the area." <br /> <br /> 23.
