The Hawai'i 50th Anniversary of Statehood Commission will be providingV4O,000 <br /> to support costs associated with dedicated commemorative events being planned for <br /> Hawai'i County. The Commission's focus has always been on education, therefore they <br /> envision that these activities will provide not only fun and entertainment, but also an <br /> enlightening experience for all the people of Hawai'i. <br /> <br /> Enclosed is a resolution to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the Hawai'i <br /> 50th Anniversary of Statehood Commission for the funding. <br /> <br /> Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating <br /> these monies into the Statehood Commemoration account. <br /> Since the Statehood anniversary is in a few months, we are asking for a waiver from the <br /> Finance Committee and to have this resolution and bill heard at the next Council meeting <br /> on May 6, 2009. <br /> <br /> If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Craig Kawaguchi, Executive <br /> Assistant to the Mayor. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> &LIL11 P/" <br /> ,pancy E.
