Payment is needed to obtain possession of the real <br /> property to complete the Mamalahoa Bypass Highway. With approximately $684,000 available <br /> in the Miscellaneous Insurance Claims and Judgments account, the remaining funds will come <br /> from the Health Benefits account. There are monies available in the Health Benefits account <br /> since the Employer Union Trust Fund (EUTF) did not increase the rates for retirees this year as <br /> was previously reported to us. While we have saved this year due to the EUTF utilizing reserves <br /> available to cover the current year's increase; the increase in FY 2010 for the retires has been <br /> set at 15 percent. <br /> Enclosed is a resolution transferring $974,000 out and from the General Fund's Health Benefits <br /> account and crediting it to the Miscellaneous Insurance Claims and Judgments account. <br /> Because of the urgency of having the funds transferred during this fiscal year, we would like to <br /> request a waiver from the Finance Committee and have this resolution heard at the Council <br /> meeting scheduled for June 2, 2009. <br /> If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Deputy Finance Director Deanna <br /> Sako. <br /> <br /> <br /> Nancy E.
