No 125/125.3 <br /> PLACE: Ben Franklin Building <br /> 333 Kilauea Avenue <br /> Hilo, HI 96720 <br /> TIME: 9:30 a.m. <br /> <br /> The Committee on Human Services and Economic Development, to which was referred <br /> Communication 125, reports as follows: <br /> <br /> Communication 125, from Nancy E. Crawford, dated February 4, 2009, transmits the qualifying <br /> applications from nonprofit organizations pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 25, Hawaii County Code, for <br /> the Council's review and appropriation of funds for inclusion in the Operating Budget for Fiscal Year <br /> 2009-2010. Forty-nine organizations have submitted applications, for 77 programs, totaling <br /> $3,118,011.32. A list of the organizations is attached, including the program titles and amount <br /> requested, including one that was ruled ineligible. <br /> <br /> At its meeting of March 2, 2009, Your Committee unanimously approved the creation of an ad hoc <br /> committee, as outlined in Communication 125.2. There was a motion to postpone Comm. 125 to <br /> April 21, 2009, which was unanimously approved. <br /> <br /> At its meeting of May 5, 2009, the report and recommendations of the ad hoc were presented to Your <br /> Committee, as contained in Comm. 125.3. Pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes 92-2.5, there was a <br /> motion to postpone to May 19, 2009, which was unanimously carried. <br /> <br /> At its meeting of May 19, 2009, Your Committee heard the recommendations contained in <br /> Comm. 125.3. In addition to the final recommendations of the ad hoc committee, the entire process <br /> carried out by the ad hoc is delineated in Comm. 125.3.
