No. 285 <br /> PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa <br /> 78-128 Ehukai Street <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 1:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 285, reports as <br /> follows: <br /> <br /> Communication No. 285, transmitted by Mayor Billy Kenoi, dated April 15, 2009, submits for <br /> confirmation the appointment of Mr. Zendo Kern of Puna to the County of Hawaii Windward <br /> Planning Commission, filling an at-large vacancy. <br /> <br /> Mr. Kern is a 26 year resident of Hawaii: He is the owner of Green Island Builders, a company <br /> that incorporates energy efficiency into the home design. Mr. Kern was one of the original <br /> members on the Downtown Hilo Steering Committee, and was an active member of the <br /> Downtown Hilo Improvement Association from 2003 to 2005. He currently serves on the <br /> Economic Development Committee of the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce. He is the <br /> 2007 SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the County of Hawaii. <br /> <br /> Mr. Kern states that he is not affiliated with any political party.
