COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> BILL NO. 42 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE <br /> 1983 (1995 EDITION), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 8, division 1, section 24-190 <br /> (Picking up or discharging passengers), of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> is amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 24-190. Picking up or discharging passengers. <br /> (a) Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other <br /> traffic, or in compliance with law or the directions <br /> of a police officer or official traffic-control <br /> device, no person shall stand or park a vehicle, <br /> whether occupied or not, except momentarily to pick up <br /> or discharge a passenger or passengers: <br /> (1) (In front of or within four feet of a public or <br /> private driveway, or within thirty feet of a <br /> public or private driveway when special signs or <br /> markings are installed;] In front of or within <br /> four feet of a public or private drivewav or <br /> within the distance required to provide the <br /> minimum stopping sight distance for the posted <br /> speed limit as provided for in the Hawaii <br /> Statewide Uniform Design Manual For Streets And <br /> Highwavs when special signs or markings are <br /> installed: <br /> (2) Within fifteen feet of a fire hydrant; <br /> (3) Within thirty feet of a marked or unmarked <br /> crosswalk[, except where designated by a parking <br /> stall;] or within the distance from a marked or <br /> unmarked crosswalk required to provide the <br /> minimum stopping sight distance for the posted <br /> ^eed limit as provided for in the Hawaii <br /> Statewide Design Manual For Streets And Highwavs. <br /> when special signs or markings are installed• <br /> <br />
