(a) The appointing authority shall adopt guidelines setting <br /> <br /> out the following: <br /> (1) The criteria or conditions that must be met before <br /> a deputy may be advanced initially after having <br /> completed a six-month period of initial employment <br /> or one step within grade in any six-month period. <br /> (2) The criteria or conditions that must be met before <br /> a deputy may be advance more than one step within <br /> grade in any one-year period. <br /> (3) The responsibilities and duties that must be <br /> performed by any supervising deputy placed in or <br /> advanced to any step within the supervisory grade.] <br /> Section [2-150.]~~ Salary Schedule. <br /> The Appointing Authorities shall [establish salary <br /> schedules for [Grades LG-1 and LG-2] within a range <br /> between] set the salaries for deputies within their <br /> offices: provided no deputy shall be compensated at a rate <br /> which is less than fifty percent (50$) [and] nor more than <br /> ninety percent (90$) of the salary which has been <br /> established for the [appointing authority by ordinance] <br /> Prosecuting Attorney or Corporation Counsel, whichever is <br /> higher. The department head shall set the salary for the <br /> individual deputies based upon the individual's <br /> professional experience and performance. <br /> -4- <br /> <br />
