Land Study Bureau's Detailed Land Classification System: Soils within the subject <br /> <br /> property are classified as "E" or "Very Poor" for agricultural productivity. <br /> 15. U.S. Soil Survey: The soils are classified as Puu Pa extremely stony very fine sandy <br /> <br /> loam (PVD), 6 to 20 percent slopes. This surface layer is very dark brown extremely <br /> <br /> stony very fine sandy loam about 6 inches thick. The next layer is dark-brown and dark, <br /> yellowish-brown very fine sandy loam about 34 inches thick. It is underlain b.r <br /> <br /> fragmental Aa lava. The reaction is medium acid to slightly acid in the surface layer and <br /> neutral in the substratum. Permeability is moderately rapid, runoff is medium, and the <br /> <br /> erosion hazard is moderate. These soils are utilized for pasture. <br /> 16. FIRM: The subject property is located within Zone X, an area determined to be outside <br /> <br /> of the 500-year flood plain. <br /> 17. Flora/Fauna Resources: According to the applicant's environmental report, the natural <br /> <br /> vegetation occurring on the property consists of cactus, buffel grass, fountain grass, <br /> spanish clover, indigo plant, partridge pea, prickly poppy, and yellow guava. No native <br /> <br /> fauna was observed on the site. Common animal species include field mice and <br /> mongoose. There are no known rare or endangered species of animal or plant li fe within <br /> <br /> the project area. <br /> 18. Archaeological Resources: According to the applicants' environmental report, no <br /> <br /> historic or archaeological sites are present on the parcel. The property has been <br /> previously used for cattle grazing. In addition, the applicant has indicated extensive <br /> <br /> grading activities within the project site in years past. <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES AND SERVICES <br /> <br /> 19. Access: Access to the subject property is provided by Kanehoa Street, which has a <br /> <br /> pavement width of 20 feet within a 50-foot wide right-of-way. Kanehoa Subdivision has <br /> two accesses from Kawaihae Road. One access point is Ouli Street, which ser%es 16 <br /> <br /> parcels while Kanehoa Street serves the remaining 10 parcels. Kanehoa Street also <br /> connects into the adjoining Anekona Estates Subdivision, which has one access point <br /> <br /> (Anekona Street) from Kawaihae Road. <br /> <br /> <br /> -3- <br />
