COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 21g 09 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THREE <br />THOUSAND DOLLARS ($3,000) FROM THE GROUP 70 FOUNDATION <br />FUND OF THE HAWAII COMMUNITY FOUNDATION <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Community Foundation has awarded three thousand <br />dollars ($3,000) to the County of Hawaii to be used for the Envision Downtown Hilo <br />2025 (EDH 2025) Project; and <br />WHEREAS, the application, "EDH 2025: Action Plan Update -Sustainable <br />Design Guidelines for Downtown Hilo", was submitted to the Hawaii Community <br />Foundation by the County of Hawaii Planning Department and the EDH 2025 <br />VisionKeepers to conduct a 5-year update of the EDH 2025 Plan and to incorporate the <br />Vision and design related strategies and actions into the Zoning Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the implementation of this collaborative project will also include <br />funds previously appropriated by the County Council and the Planning Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Department recommends the acceptance of this <br />award; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides <br />that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of money, <br />securities, or other personal property or real estate or any interest in real estate. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY <br />OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County <br />Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this award. <br />
