Sumada, dated September 17, <br /> 1998, per request of Ms. Mary Beth Hilburn, Vice Principal of <br /> Kealakehe High School, transmits a bill to prohibit parking along <br /> Puo Hulihuli Street on school days, which will improve overall <br /> traffic safety in the immediate area. <br /> <br /> Comm. 993: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT <br /> <br /> (Bill 300) KAHAKAI ROAD-ONE-WAY TRAFFIC PATTERN <br /> From Deputy Chief Engineer Jiro A. Sumada, dated September 17, <br /> 1998, per request, transmits a bill to change the traffic pattern <br /> along Kahakai Road in Kona to one-way in the southerly direction. <br /> Informs Kahakai Road is narrow and accommodates a variety of <br /> vehicles to include busses, commercial/service vehicles and local <br /> residents. The one-way pattern will improve overall traffic safety <br /> for motorists and pedestrians along Kahakai Road and will <br /> eliminate vehicle conflicts occun•ing at the intersection of Kahakai <br /> Road and Alii Drive. <br /> Comm. 994: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT <br /> (Bill 301) MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) <br /> PROPOSED BUS STOP <br /> From Deputy Chief Engineer .Tiro A. Sumada, dated September 17, <br /> 1998, informs by authority of Section 24-10 of the Hawaii County <br /> Code, the Chief of Police established a temporary bus stop along <br /> Mamalahoa Highway, (Route 190), fronting Waimea Elementary <br /> and Intermediate School to be in operation on school days. 'Fhe <br /> bus stop under the Chief of Police's authority is effective for ninety <br /> days. This amendment will continue the designated bus stop until <br /> the Department of Education constructs more internal circulation <br /> roads, with appropriate bus loading and unloading zones. <br /> <br />
