Review the planned safety improvements described in <br /> Ordinance 08.58 and 08.59 Section 2 e. L), (2), (1, and reduce operational costs to the County of <br /> Hawai'i. The department recently introduced Ordinance No. 09.13 requesting the Hawai'i County Council <br /> extend Haleki'i Street Extension for public use to March 2010, a year from the date it opened. <br /> Grant of Easement extended <br /> Public Works is asking the Hawai'i County Council to accept a resolution extending the Grant of <br /> Easement with 1250 Oceanside Partners to March 2010. <br /> Safety improvements; traffic signals on AIN drive <br /> Plans are underway to install traffic signals at Hualalai, Lunapule and Royal Poinciana and two smart <br /> signs by 2011, estimated to cost $6.7 million. This is a condition in Bill 235, draft 4 adopted by the <br /> Hawai'i County Council in 2008. Prior to opening the Bypass, the County of Hawai'i completed safety <br /> improvements along Ali'i Drive, in Kona Scenic subdivision and on Highway 11. Traffic, Engineering and <br /> Highways Divisions implemented these measures to facilitate travel for additional southbound traffic as <br /> required by Ordinance Nos' 08-58, 08-59, and 08-64.
