<br />BDakujakuREZ. mjc-7/9/09 <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br />BACKGROUND REPORT <br />CONRAD AND JOANNE DAKUJAKU <br />CHANGE OF ZONE APPLICATION (REZ 09 971 <br />CONRAD and JOANNE DAKUJAKU have submitted an application for a Change of <br />Zone from Single-Family Residential - 10,000 square feet (RS-10) to the Industrial-Commercial <br />Mixed - 20,000 square feet (MCX-20) district for approximately 22,300 square feet of land. The <br />property is located along the east side of Kalanikoa Street approximately 100 feet north of the <br />intersection of Kalanikoa Street and Hualani Street, Waiakea Houselots 1 st series, Waiakea, <br />South Hilo, Hawaii, TMK: 2-2-35:34. <br />PROPOSED ACTION <br />1. Request: Change of zone from RS-10 to MCX-20. <br />2. Proposed Development: The applicants' tentative development plans consist of <br />constructing an approximately 7,800-square foot steel building containing six bays of <br />warehouse storage space and three units of office space. Reason for the Request: The applicants intend to provide the local entrepreneur with an <br />affordable location for a business establishment or warehouse storage space. <br />4.
