Sako <br />Deputy Director <br />I have reviewed the fiscal year 2008 draft Management Letter comment concerning <br />"Access to Programs and Data" with Burt Tsuchiya, Director of Data Systems. Since <br />some of the systems referred to in the comment are related to the Department of Finance, <br />this is a joint response. <br />• Information Security Policy - An Information Security Policy Committee has been <br />created to look at and develop guidelines and ultimately will be preparing a policy for <br />the County. <br />• Passwords -The IAS application does not have a feature that would allow us to be <br />this specific with our password requirements. We will continue to work with our <br />vendor to determine if it is possible to add this functionality to the software. <br />• User Access -Due to the limited number of personnel, there are a few applications <br />that have very carefully selected users with this access. <br />• Review of User Access -This is currently being done, however, we will work on <br />implementing this on a more County-wide and annual basis. <br />• Physical Access -Subsequent to the completion of the audit, the server was moved <br />and is now locked in the server room. <br />If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 961-8092 or Burt Tsuchiya at <br />981-8300. <br />Hawaii County is an equal opportunity provider and employer. <br />
