<br />COUNTY OF HAWAI'I STATE OF HAWAI'I <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 236 09 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING HONOLULU CITY AND COUNTY COUNCIL <br />MEMBER ROMY CACHOLA TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE NATIONAL <br />ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Hawai' i State Association of Counties (HSAC) is a nonprofit <br />corporation comprised of members of the four county councils of the State of Hawai'i; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, each county represented on HSAC is a member of the National Association <br />of Counties (NACo), an organization comprised of about 3,000 counties from across the United <br />States; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, NACo is governed by a board of directors comprised of elected and <br />appointed officials of active member-counties; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section SA of the HSAC bylaws requires nominees to the NACo Board of <br />Directors to be nominated by the HSAC executive committee and member-county councils of <br />HSAC and forwarded to the NACo President and Board of Directors for consideration in <br />accordance with Article VI of the NACo bylaws; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on August 17, 2009, the HSAC executive committee unanimously <br />approved the nomination of Romy Cachola to be a president's appointee to the NACo board of <br />directors for the 2009 - 20 I 0 term; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HA W AI'I that <br />Romy Cachola is approved as the nominee for the NACo president's appointee to the NACo <br />board of directors for the 2009 - 2010 term; and <br /> <br />Page I of2 <br />
