AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING A PORTION OF TMK (3) 2-1-017:018 AS THE "LA LAKE A POND BEACH PARK" PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 15, ARTICLE 8, SECTION 15-67 OF THE HAWAI'I COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED); AMENDING CHAPTER 15, ARTICLE 8, SECTION 15-68.1 OF THE HAW AI'I COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED) TO ADD THE "LALAKEA POND BEACH PARK" TO THE PARKS AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES SCHEDULE; AND AMENDING CHAPTER 14, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 14-1 OF THE HAWAI'I COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO INTOXICATING LIQUORS PROHIBITED IN CERTAIN PUBLIC PLACES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAW AI'I: SECTION I Purpose The purpose of this ordmance IS to name a portion of Leleiwi Beach Park The subject parcellS an aesthetic area located m the Keaukaha area of South Hllo withm TMK (3) 2-1-017.018 and bounded by the direct extensions of Lokoaka Street and KlOea Street to the ,horelme The area would be named "Laliikea Pond Beach Park" pursuant to chapter 15, article 8, of the Hawai'l County Code, which establishes gUidelines for the nammg of such faCIlIties Section 15-67(a)(1)(A) proVides that any "aesthetic area" shall retam any eXlstmg name which has been hlstoncally accepted through common usage. The area has traditionally been called Lalakea Pond by the Keaukaha and Letelwl Commumty, local fishermen, and long- time area reSidents. SECTION 2 Notwlthstandmg any other law to the contrary, that certam open area of County land located wlthm TMK(3) 2-1-017 018 and bounded by the easternmost limits of the direct extensIOn of Lokoaka Street, and the westernmost limits of the dIrect extensions of Kioea Street, IS hereby named "Laliikea Pond Beach Park" SECTION 3 Chapter 15, article 8, sectIOn 15-68 I, Hawm'l County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), relating to the parks and recreational faCIlIty schedule, Parks, Hllo/Hamakua, IS amended by addmg the followmg facilIty to the Hilo/Hamakua parks and recreatIOnal faCilities schedule, to be appropnately mserted and to read as follows "Lalakea Pond Beach Park"
