<br /> <br /> <br /> JNTY^OF It <br /> <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br /> ~ TMO <br /> r,TE Of N~~r <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 251 09 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER <br /> INTO AN INTER-GOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY AND <br /> <br /> COUNTY OF HONOLULU, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR REAL <br /> PROPERTY TAX SUPPORT SERVICES; AND AUTHORIZING THE <br /> PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE <br /> THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the real property tax administrators of the four (4) counties realize that <br /> <br /> they have common concerns and need to support each other; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it was determined that benefits could be realized by working together to <br /> <br /> share resources; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, through a cost sharing agreement with the City and County of Honolulu, <br /> <br /> certain services will be provided to support our county's real property tax program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the scope of services, limited to areas of statewide concern, common <br /> <br /> to all counties, and provided in editable electronic formats, includes technical services; <br /> <br /> development and maintenance of a building classification manual; training and technical <br /> <br /> support for valuation methodology; and technical support for standards, procedures, and <br /> <br /> reports; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into this multi-year inter- <br /> <br /> governmental agreement with the City and County of Honolulu for five (5) years; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county <br /> <br /> departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal <br /> <br /> or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers <br /> <br /> granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in <br /> <br /> connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; and <br />
