The <br /> Planning Department is authorized to establish a program for the relocation of owner- <br /> occupants residing near the Puna Geothermal Venture's plant and who want to be <br /> permanently relocated, and to fund expenditures for the benefit of Lower Puna; including <br /> but not limited to, road improvements, water infrastructure development, land acquisition, <br /> parks and recreational facility needs, civil defense mass transit improvements. <br /> Expenditures from this fund are to be made in accordance with appropriations adopted by <br /> the Hawai'i County Council after receiving recommendations from the Planning Director. <br /> <br /> Through the efforts of Councilmember Emily Naeole and as recommended by Planning <br /> Director BJ Leithead-Todd, monies from the Geothermal Relocation and Community <br /> Benefits Fund are being requested for the Department of Parks and Recreation. <br /> Enclosed is a resolution that transfers $69,500 out of the Geothermal Relocation and <br /> Community Benefits Fund's Planning Department's account and credits it to the Parks <br /> and Recreation's Geothermal accounts. The funds will be used to purchase a new pool <br /> vacuum for Pahoa Pool ($5,500) and to provide for security guard services at the <br /> Pohoiki Park ($64,000). <br /> <br /> If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Department of Parks and <br /> Recreation or the Planning Department. <br /> <br /> <br /> C <br /> <br /> Nancy E.
