Bell, Barbara: (3-year term) - Previous Director of Dept. of Environmental Management. Experience in the planning process, including plan writing, prioritizing and implementation. Action oriented. Worked in county government for many years, knowledge of government processes, familiar with legislative process and lobbying. Post graduate studies in economics, business and accounting. Property development and management experience. Knowledge of lower Puna. Resident of Puna for 15 years, resides in Kapoho Beach Lots. Commendador, Frank: (3-year term) - Advocate for diversified agriculture and development of new businesses and compatible industries. Some planning experience as an intern on the Waiana& Coast. Facilitation skills. Active in Community Associations. Resident of Puna for three years, resides in Fern Acres. Greene, Madeline: (4-year term) - Small business owner. Previous experience as a manager in large company, overseeing numerous employees. Active in many community organizations. Local event coordinator. Numerous community contacts. Experience in collaborating and implementing measures to keep the community involved. Knowledge of government and non-government agencies roles in project implementation. Experience in collaborating to resolve issues in Puna. Resident of Puna for 13 years, resides in Nanawale Estates. Higgins, Laurence: (2-year term) Licensed architect in the State of Hawaii since 1971. Experience in planning and land use. Experience in developing affordable, multi-family, and custom housing. Advocate for alternative energy and business. Developer perspective. Artist. Resident of Puna for one year, resides in Volcano.
