No. 548/Res. No. 248-09 <br /> <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 248-09, reports as follows: <br /> <br />Resolution No. 248-09, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 548, <br />dated September 22, 2009, authorizes the acceptance of a monetary donation from Wal-Mart Hilo. <br /> <br />Wal-Mart Hilo has graciously donated $1,000 as part of its "Community Grant" program. These funds <br />will be used to purchase educational materials relating to fire and injury prevention, and will be <br />distributed to the public during Fire Prevention Week, Emergency Medical Services Week, and <br />throughout the year. <br /> <br />Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawai'i County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the County, <br />may accept gifts or donations of personal property. <br /> <br />A letter of appreciation will be sent to Wal-Mart Hilo, 325 E.
