The amendment further extends the <br />proposed termination date from December 31, 2010, to June 30, 2011. The proposed <br />amendments are illustrated below via Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill 168 <br />(material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken through; material to be added is underscored) <br />and bolded for illustrative purposes only. <br /> <br />1. Amend SECTION 1, Findings and Purpose, to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Findings and Purpose. The Hawai'i County Council, in amending Section 18-90(h), of <br />the Hawai'i County Code 1983 (2005 edition, as amended), seeks to extend the County-wide <br />transportation k6kua zone to [Deeember 31, 2010.J June 30, 2011." <br /> <br />2. Amend proposed amendments to section 18-90, subsection (h), Hawai'i County <br />Code, to read as follows: <br /> <br />"(h) Island-wide transportation free zone~ <br /> <br />(1) The purpose of this subsection is to provide the public with a <br />transportation alternative to the private automobile. The provision <br />of an effective public transportation system for the residents of the <br />County of Hawai'i will produce economic, social and lifestyle <br />benefits for the residents of Hawai'i County.
