COUN'~"Y OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII BILL NO. 148 ORDINANCE NO. ~~ ~~~ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. Purpose. To lessen the speed limit on this narrow, one-lane road, thereby promoting public safety. SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 10, division 1, section 24-253.1, schedule 1.1 (15 mile per hour limit), paragraph (c), South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is amended by adding the following, to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows: "~ ) Pi`ihonua Road from a point .7 mile northwest of the terminus of Waianuenue Avenue at the southern terminus of Bridge 25-2 to its western terminus." SECTION 3. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the underscoring need not be included. SECTION 4. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
