No. 617 <br /> PLACE: Councilroom <br /> Ben Franklin Building, 2°d Floor <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 617, reports as follows: <br /> <br /> Communication No. 617, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated November 3, 2009, <br /> authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Herbert T. and Mary Y. Matayoshi. <br /> <br /> The Matayoshis' have graciously donated $50.00 to the Hawaii County Office of Aging in appreciation <br /> of the Silver Bulletin newsletter that they enjoy reading. The funds will be used to subsidize the cost of <br /> producing the Silver Bulletin, which provides individuals 60 years and older, and/or their caregivers <br /> with monthly information on opportunities and services available within their communities. <br /> <br /> Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the County, <br /> may accept gifts or donations of personal property. <br /> <br /> Also, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(c), Hawaii County Code, any donation or gift <br /> which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance shall be submitted <br /> to the Council by letter for its approval. <br /> <br /> A letter of appreciation will be sent to Herbert T. and Mary M. Matayoshi, 760 Onaha Street, Honolulu, <br /> Hawaii 96816-4921, acknowledging this generous donation. <br /> <br /> There was no discussion on this measure. <br /> <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Comm.
