All parties agree that current use at the water <br /> spigots should be classified as "day -to -day use" rather than and "emergency use." We are exploring <br /> the potential of moving the control of water spigots out of the Department of Civil Defense and into a <br /> more appropriate department that can address budget; management and maintenance concerns. <br /> Though we are still in the exploration phase, the following bullets indicate the potential direction we <br /> are heading: <br /> • Identify appropriate department to oversee water spigots <br /> • Identify source of County funding for water use at spigots <br /> • No charge for public waterat the spigots <br /> • Identify specific a water spigots only for filling 55 gals or less • <br /> Identify a second spigot only for filling tanks greater than 55 gals <br /> Limit water fill to 250 gals per fill <br /> * * ** these rulings are to specifically address concerns by users who have long waits <br /> behind large tank water users <br /> • Enforce existing rules that require hauling at /or below specified maximum payloads of the <br /> vehicle or trailer. <br /> * * ** this emphasis is to address concerns that many users over -load <br /> pickups /trailers and become a potential danger on the road <br /> I do appreciate your patience as we sort through our water spigot issues.
