No. 698 /Bill No. 205 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 205, reports as follows: <br />Bill No. 205, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 300 -10 by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford, <br />via Communication No. 698, dated February 3, 2010, amends Ordinance No. 09 -64, as amended, the <br />Operating Budget, ending June 30, 2010. The amendment is as follows: <br />FROM: <br />3308.56 Federal Grants — NG JJIS Data Broker Project General $ 25,000 <br />TOTAL $ 25,000 <br />TO: <br />010.271.5271.89 NG JJISS Data Broker Grant Project General $ 25,000 <br />TOTAL $ 25,000 <br />The County of Hawai`i has been selected as a pilot site to implement a computer system interface to <br />electronically forward juvenile arrest data from the Hawai`i Police Department's Records <br />Management System (RMS) to the Prosecuting Attorney's Hawai`i Island Tracking System (HITS). <br />This will eliminate double entry of information and improve efficiency. The JJIS serves as a data <br />repository for juvenile offender information for the Sate of Hawaii. Up to $25,000 of Federal grant <br />funds will be provided from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention for this <br />program <br />Pursuant to Section 46 -7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, and Section 13- 13(b), Hawaii County Charter, <br />the Mayor is hereby authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for the NG JJIS Data <br />Broker Project. <br />Hawai`i County Prosecuting Attorney Jay Kimura was present to answer any Council Members <br />questions. <br />FC Rept.
