No. 699 /Bill No. 206 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 206, reports as follows: <br />Bill No. 206, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 699, <br />dated February 2, 2010, amends Ordinance No. 09 -64, as amended, the Operating Budget, ending <br />June 30, 2010. The amendment is as follows: <br />3301.54 Housing Voucher Program — Housing $2,741,000 <br />TOTAL $2,741,000 <br />TO: <br />152.461.5466.30 Voucher Rental Subsidies Housing $2,741,000 <br />TOTAL $2,741,000 <br />The U.S. Department of Housing and Community Development has updated the allocation for the <br />period July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010 for the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program. <br />This increase in appropriation will be used for payment of rental assistance for eligible program <br />participants. <br />Pursuant to Section 46 -7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, and Section 13- 13(b), Hawaii County <br />Charter, the Mayor is hereby authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for the Office <br />of Housing and Community Development. <br />Sharon Hirota from the Office of Housing and Community Development said these funds are an <br />addition to the existing budget and will allow the department to clear some of the backlog on the <br />waiting list. <br />FC Rept.
