RESOLUTION NO~ ,344'/'98 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS, ECONOMIC. DEVELOPMENT & TOURISM, OFFICE OF PLANNING, STATE OF HAWAII, TO IMPLEMENT THE HAWAII COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT (CZM) PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism, Office of Planning, has authorized funding to the County of Hawaii to implement the Hawaii Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Program; and WHEREAS, . the funds provided by the Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism, Office of Planning, are derived from grants provided by the federal government and the state government; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires the county departments obtain the consent of the Council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into an agreement with the Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism, Office of Planning, State of Hawaii, to implement the Hawaii Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to sign the above-referenced and future agreements and any related documents on behalf of the Office of the Mayor and the County of Hawan pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter.
