No. 725 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 725, reports as follows: <br />Communication No. 725, transmitted by Mayor Billy Kenoi, dated February 17, 2010, nominates <br />Mr. Arne T. Henricks of Council District 2 to serve on the County of Hawaii Board of Ethics. <br />A 52 -year resident of Hawai`i, Mr. Henricks retired in 2000 as a Per Diem Judge from the State <br />of Hawai`i Judiciary. Mr. Henricks states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If <br />confirmed, Mr. Henricks will replace Ms. Diane Gentry's vacancy, whose term expired on <br />December 31, 2009. <br />Deputy Corporation Counsel Renee Schoen and several Council Members spoke in support of <br />Mr. Henrick's appointment. <br />Council Member Onishi advised Mr. Henrick that he need not appear before the full Council for <br />confirmation. <br />Pursuant to Article XIV, Section 14 -5, Hawai`i County Charter, there shall be a Board of Ethics <br />appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Council. <br />Your Committee on Finance is in accord with Mayor Kenoi's nomination and recommends the <br />confirmation of the appointment of Mr. Arne T.
