REPORT OF THE <br />COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br />DATE: March 16, 2010 <br />PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa <br />78 -128 `Ehukai Street <br />Kailua -Kona, Hawaii <br />TIME: 2:10 p.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br />Re: Comm. No. 743 /Res. 314 -10 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 314 -10, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 314 -10, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford, via Communication <br />No. 743, dated March 3, 2010, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more <br />than one fiscal year for a multi -year lease agreement for two (2) hook roll on/off trucks and six <br />(6) roll on/off bins for the Department of Environmental Management Solid Waste Division. <br />These trucks and bins are needed to receive and haul refuse from the Miloli`i transfer station. A <br />settlement agreement with the UPW requires the County take over this service, which is <br />currently being contracted out, no later than August 1, 2011. Due to the size of the Miloli`i <br />transfer station and the steep, narrow and winding road, the equipment used for other transfer <br />stations are not suitable for this location.
