DATE: March 16, 2010 <br />PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa <br />78 -128 `Ehukai Street <br />Kailua -Kona, Hawai`i <br />TIME: 2:10 p.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawai`i County Council <br />Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 315 -10, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 315 -10, transmitted jointly with Bill 219, by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford, via <br />Communication No. 744 dated March 3, 2010, authorizes the Office of the Mayor to enter into an <br />agreement with the State of Hawai`i Department of Health's Maternal & Child Health Branch for funding <br />to the Hawai`i Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for the Sexual Violence Prevention and Planning <br />project. <br />The Hawai`i Office of the Prosecuting Attorney participated in the development of the statewide Sexual <br />Violence Prevention and Planning project and is now receiving funding to build capacity and prepare <br />Hawai`i County for its implementation. These monies, derived from Federal funds, will support Area <br />Strategic Work Group sessions, capacity building workshops, and participation in the Sexual Violence <br />Primary Prevention Implementation Committee and facilitator training on Oahu. <br />Pursuant to Section 46 -7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, County Departments must obtain the consent of the <br />Council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to be taken <br />pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or other assistance <br />in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. <br />There was no discussion on this matter. <br />Your Committee on Finance is in accordance with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 315 -10, and <br />recommends its adoption. <br />Kk <br />REPORT OF THE <br />COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br />Re: Comm.
