i 'V <br />Project Number 09 -SU -20 <br />C O N T R A C T <br />THIS CONTRACT, executed on the respective dates <br />indicated below, is effective as of July 1, 2009 1 by and <br />between the Department of the Attorney General, State of Hawaii., <br />hereinafter called "Agency ", by and through the Attorney <br />General, and the Hawaii Police Department, hereinafter called <br />"Grantee ". <br />WITNESSETH <br />WHEREAS, Title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe <br />Streets Act of 1968, 42 U. S. C. H 3711 et seq ., as amended <br />(hereinafter "Act ") , was enacted to make grants to States and <br />units of local government, for use by the State or unit of local <br />government to provide additional personnel, equipment, supplies, <br />contractual support, training, technical assistance, and <br />information systems for criminal justice, including for any one <br />or more of the following programs: <br />(1) Law enforcement programs. <br />(2) Prosecution and court programs. <br />(3) Prevention and education programs. <br />EXHIBIT "I" <br />
