COUNTY OF HAWA, '*\STATE OF HAWAII <br /> BILL NO. 104 <br /> (Draft 2) <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18, ARTICLE 2, DIVISION 2, SECTION <br /> 18 -40 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 RELATING TO THE EXPIRATION OF <br /> DRIVER'S PERMIT FOR TAXICABS. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> SECTION 1. Chapter 18, article 2, division 2, <br /> section 18 -40 of the Hawaii County Code is amended to read as <br /> follows: <br /> Section 18 -40. Expiration; renewal; waiver of examination. <br /> (a) Every taxicab driver's permit issued under this <br /> article shall expire, unless otherwise revoked or cancelled, <br /> [one year] four years after the issuance thereof and shall be <br /> renewed on or before its expiration date upon re- examination. <br /> A new set of color photographs shall be furnished by an <br /> applicant with each application for renewal. <br /> (b) The chief of police may waive examination upon <br /> renewal of a permit. <br /> (c) Whenever a driver's license of any taxicab driver is <br /> suspended or revoked, the chief of police shall require that <br /> the taxicab driver's permit be surrendered to and be retained <br /> a <br /> by the chief of police, except that at the end of the period of <br /> suspension, the permit so surrendered shall be returned to the <br /> licensee. <br /> I ` <br />
