No. 769 <br /> PLACE: Hawai`i County Building <br /> 25 Aupuni Street <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> TIME: 9:10 A.M. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred <br /> Communication 769, reports as follows: <br /> Communication 769 transmitted on March 25, 2010, from Mayor Billy Kenoi, nominates <br /> Mr. Duane Hosaka of Council District 2 to the County of Hawai`i Transportation Commission. <br /> This nomination was first heard by Your Committee on May 5, 2010. Mr. Hosaka was present <br /> and members spoke in support of his appointment. However, due to incorrect information on the <br /> agenda regarding the appointment, County Clerk Kenneth Goodenow recommended <br /> postponement. Your Committee unanimously approved postponement of the matter until <br /> May 18, 2010. <br /> On June 22, 2010, the nomination was heard again. Mr. Hosaka was not in attendance, but <br /> Councilmember Dominic Yagong again spoke in support of his good character. Corporation <br /> Counsel Lincoln Ashida stated there were no known conflicts of interest given Mr. Hosaka's <br /> connection with County Civil Defense.
