highly disturbed nature of the site on the urban/agricultural interface, 110 native fauna <br /> were observed during the course of the botany survey or other site visits to the site. <br /> Several alien bird species were noted during the survey and listed in the report. <br /> Additionally, the Hawaiian Hawk or `Io, the Hawaiian owl or Pueo, and the Hawaiian <br /> hoary bat probably make some use of the area. <br /> 16. Archaeological /Cultural /Historical Resources: An Archaeological and Limited <br /> Cultural Assessment was conducted of the property by Robert B. Rechtman Ph.D., <br /> Ashton K. Dircks Ah Sam B.A., and Johnny R. Dudoit, B.A. The field survey <br /> determined that no archaeological sites were present, which was expected due to the <br /> heavy and long -term disturbance from sugar cane cultivation. The archaeologists <br /> recommended that no further historic preservation work or mitigation is needed, a finding <br /> that is being reviewed by the State Historic Preservation Division. Additionally, the <br /> limited cultural assessment of the property identified the property as having been planted <br /> in sugarcane for the better part of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The <br /> assessment concluded that there were no valued natural or cultural resources or cultural <br /> practices identified for the subject property. <br /> 17. Public Access: There is no record of a designated public access to the shoreline or <br /> mountain areas that traverses the property. <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES AND SERVICES <br /> 18. Access: Access to the property will be from Union Mill Road, which is a private <br /> roadway with a 20 -foot pavement within a 50 -foot right -of -way. The applicant owns <br /> TMK: 5 -4- 010:029, which will be used to provide access to the subject property from <br /> Union Mill Road. According to the applicant's submitted site plan, a roadway lot will be <br /> created in the subdivision of the property to provide access to the proposed lots from <br /> Union Mill Road. <br /> 19. Water: County water is available to the property. <br /> 20. Wastewater: According to the applicant, wastewater disposal for each lot will be via <br /> Individual Wastewater Systems approved by the State Department of Health. <br /> 21. Solid Waste: According to the applicant, all household waste will be transported and <br /> disposed of by the homeowners or commercial haulers to the transfer stations or to <br /> -3- <br />
