Section 10 1. 1 is amended to read as follows: <br />"101.1 Title. This code shall be known as the International Energy <br />Conservation Code of the County of Hawaii and shall be cited as such. It <br />is referred to herein as "this code. "" <br />(2) Amending Section 101.2. Section 101.2 is amended to read as follows: <br />"101.2 Scope. This code applies to residential and commercial buildings. <br />Exception: Unconditioned R -3 (single family dwelling) <br />occupancies. <br />(3) Adding Section 101.4.2.1. Section 101.4.2.1 is added to read as follows: <br />" 101.4.2.1 Indigenous Hawaiian Architecture. For the purpose of this <br />section indigenous Hawaiian architecture includes any of the predominant <br />architectural practices customs styles and techniques historically <br />employed by the native residents of the Hawaiian Islands, including <br />structure comprised of either rock walls or wood frames for the bottom <br />portion of structures and thatched of different natural grasses and leaves <br />for the roof. <br />All structures of indigenous Hawaiian architecture are exempt from this <br />code. <br />(4) Deleting and replacing Section 103.1. Section 103.1 is deleted in its <br />entirety and replaced to read as follows: <br />
