licensed professional as required by Chapter 464 of the Hawaii Revised <br />Statutes, for the following work: <br />1. All electrical power, equipment and lighting requirements shall be <br />completed and certified by an electrical engineer. <br />2. All requirements of heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems <br />and equipment, service water heating systems and equipment shall <br />be completed and certified by a mechanical engineer. <br />3. All elements of building envelope and building performance <br />requirements shall be completed and certified by an architect or <br />mechanical engineer. <br />EXCEPTION: A duly registered professional architect may <br />prepare, design, approve, certify and stamp the following plans, <br />specifications and necessary computations when any of the <br />following conditions are complied with: <br />1. Lighting and /or electrical plans when the total load of all <br />electrical work shall not exceed 35 kilo -volt amperes. <br />2. Mechanical plans when the building or structure is heated, <br />ventilated, or equipped and cooled with an air conditioning <br />system with a total capacity of not more than 60,000 <br />BTU /Hr. <br />Specifications and necessary computations need not be <br />submitted when authorized by the code official." <br />(5) Amending Section 103.3.1. Section 103.3.1 is amended to read as follows: <br />"103.3.1 Approval of construction documents. When the code official <br />issues a permit, the code official shall affix an official stamp of approval <br />to the specifications and each sheet of the job site copy of the plans. Such <br />approved plans and specifications shall not be changed, modified, or <br />altered without authorization from the code official and all work shall be <br />done in accordance with the approved plans. The building permit shall be <br />posted in a conspicuous place on the job site during the progress of work. <br />One set of approved plans shall be retained by the code official as <br />the official records, one set of approved plans shall be returned to the <br />applicant as the approved job site copy, and said set shall be kept on the <br />site of the building or work at all times during which the work authorized <br />thereby is in progress." <br />4 <br />
