This project is to <br /> improve the existing facility to include a Transfer building which will receive both <br /> commercial and residential refuse to be collected, sorted and deposited into an existing <br /> trailer which will transport it to either the West Hawai'i Sanitary Landfill or the South Hilo <br /> Sanitary Landfill. This facility will also receive and transport green waste for processing, <br /> has a recycle and a reuse area, a facility for household hazardous waste, a redemption <br /> area, a white goods area and a refuse area. <br /> These repairs and enhancements will improve circulation, as well as provide a service to <br /> both commercial and residential users in the community and surrounding areas in an <br /> environment which is safe and user - friendly. <br /> If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Department of Environmental <br /> Management. <br /> Nancy E.
