COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />BILL NO. 12 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 <br />(2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO OUTDOOR LIGHTING. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br />SECTION 1. Chapter 14, article 9, section 14- 51(a), of the Hawaii County Code 1983 <br />(2005 Edition, as amended), is amended by adding the following to be appropriately numbered <br />and to read as follows: <br />�b "Blue light content" means the ratio of the amount of energy emitted by <br />the outdoor light fixture between 400 and 500 nm divi by the amount <br />of energy between 400 and 700 nm. <br />"Traffic color compliant" means the 1931 CIE x y color coordinates of the <br />outdoor light fixture is outside of any of the traffic signal color boxe as <br />defined by ITE ST -052 500 /AGS -PM /1105. <br />SECTION 2. Chapter 14, article 9, section 14 -52, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 <br />(2005 Edition, as amended), is amended to read as follows: <br />Section 14 -52. General requirements. <br />(a) Standard [, pe or <br />] fixture. All [etlier] class types of outdoor light <br />fixtures shall follow the requirements set forth in Table 14 -A. <br />(b) Shielding. All outdoor lights shall be shielded pursuant to the requirements set forth in <br />Table 14 -A. <br />(c) Hours of operation. All outdoor light fixtures shall be subject to the hours of operation as <br />required by Table 14 -A. <br />(d) Mercury vapor lights prohibited. Mercury vapor lamps shall not be used for any new <br />outdoor lighting installations or for the replacement of any existing installation. All <br />existing mercury vapor outdoor lighting fixtures shall be removed by August 17, 1998. <br />Blue lit co ntent. Th e blue light c o the outdoor light fixture shall be ursuanr to <br />t require set forth in T able 14 -A. <br />
