HSAC has a seat in <br /> sister -state committee. <br /> Mr. Pono Shim, President & CEO Enterprise Honolulu related that this APEC meeting in <br /> the US returns 1 in 21 years as each country a turn to host. Hawaii involvement <br /> has been mostly cultural and not economic. This event is a! very large opportunity and <br /> needs to be statewide. He is looking for letters,:of commitment from the counties both to <br /> be involved and to strengthen his grant application., Secretary Pilago voiced his interest <br /> that the linkage include topics of social justice, social responsibility and sustainability. <br /> President Kawakami will discuss Mayor Kenoi's APEC committee concept with the Mayor <br /> of Kauai. <br /> Treasurer Pontanilla moved to accept the NACo report; motion seconded by Secretary <br /> Pilago. President Kawakami requested a motion to include communications regarding the <br /> 2011 HSAC Legislative package be included as one item.
