COUNTY OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 300 10 STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL, PURSUANT TO HRS 46 -7, FOR THE NEXT GENERATION JUVENILE JUSTICE INFORMATION SYSTEM DATA BROKER PROJECT WHEREAS, The County of Hawaii has been selected as a pilot site to implement a computer system interface between the Hawaii County Police Department's Records Management System to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney's Hawaii Island Tracking System; and WHEREAS, the Department of the Attorney General's Crime Prevention & Justice Assistance Division has authorized funding to the Hawai'i Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for this Next Generation Juvenile Justice Information System (NG JJIS) Data Broker Project; and WHEREAS, the Juvenile Justice Information System serves as a data repository for juvenile offender information for the State of Hawaii; and WHEREAS, these monies, derived from Federal funds, will be used to implement an interface, which will electronically transfer juvenile arrest data between the Police and Prosecuting Attorney's systems; and WHEREAS, this will eliminate double entry of information into the separate systems and will help to improve efficiency; and WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46 -7, requires that county departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers.
