REPORT OF THE <br />COMMITTEE ON PLANNING <br />DATE: February 1, 2011 Re: Comm. 57 <br />PLACE: Council Chambers <br />Hilo, Hawaii <br />TIME: 5:00 p.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Comm. 57, reports as follows: <br />Communication No. 57, from Mayor Billy Kenoi, dated January 5, 2011, requests confirmation of the <br />appointments of Fanny Au Hoy, Terry K. Dunlap, Sharron Stanbro and John L. Hetherington to the <br />Kailua Village Design Commission. <br />Fanny Au Hoy, of Council District 8, is a lifelong resident of Hawaii and has been the <br />administrator at Heulihe`e Palace since 1988. Ms. Au Hoy previously served as a member on the <br />Kailua Village Design Commission and her community service includes membership with <br />Daughters of Hawaii, Kuakini Hawaiian Civic Club, Kona Coffee Festivals Board and past <br />membership with the YMCA -Kona. Ms. Au Hoy states that she is not affiliated with any <br />political party. If confirmed, she will succeed Ann Peterson and will serve the remainder of <br />Ms Peterson's term to end December 312011, and subsequently a- consecutive term to end on <br />December 31, 2014. <br />Council District 7, Terry K. Dunlap is a 13 -year resident of Hawaii and is the Vice President <br />and architect of Kona Homes and Land Design LLC. Mr. Dunlap previously served as a member <br />on the Kailua Village Design Commission and his community service includes past membership <br />on the Rotary International and the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Dunlap states that he is a <br />Republican. If confirmed he will succeed Paul Bleck and will serve a term to end on <br />December 31, 2013. <br />Sharron Stanbro, of Council District 8, is a 14 -year resident of Hawaii and is retired. <br />Ms. Stanbro previously served on the Arborist Commission and her community service includes <br />past membership as a Director on the H61ualoa Foundation for Arts and Culture, as a Director for <br />Pulama Historical Association, Kona Outdoor Circle, Reef Watch and Visitor Aloha Society of <br />Hawaii. Ms. Stanbro states that she is a Democrat. If confirmed, she will succeed Ann Kern <br />and will serve a term to end on December 31, 2012. <br />PC Report No. 10 <br />
