PC -10 Page 2 Comm. 57 <br />John L. Hetherington, of Council District 8, is a 20 -year resident of Hawaii and is employed as a <br />draftsman designer by Walter Fullerton Architect. His community service includes, current <br />membership with the Ecumenical Church of Light as Vice President, past Director of the Church <br />of Light, past volunteer counselor with the Suicide Hotline and past Musical Coordinator with <br />the Imaginarium Arts Organization. Mr. Hetherington states that he is not affiliated with any <br />political party. If confirmed, he will succeed Cindy Coats and will serve a term to end on <br />December 31, 2013. <br />All nominees were present at the Kona County Council Office <br />Committee Chair Hoffmann asked if each member would introduce themselves and make a brief <br />statement. <br />Fanny Collins Au Hoy stated she has been a resident of Kailua -Kona since 1975 and has been a <br />member of the Daughters of Hawaii - Organization since 1979. She served on the .Kailua Design <br />Commission a few years ago. She feels it is part of her duty to be a part of this community <br />effort. <br />Councilmember Pilago commented he is in strong support of Fanny Au Hoy who is a long time <br />resident and supporter for the betterment of Kona. He is pleased the nomination has come <br />through and will vote in favor to confirm. He extended thanks for her contributions to the <br />community. <br />Terry Dunlap stated he is an architect in Kona and has previously served on the Kailua Village <br />Design Commission, during the 1990's. <br />John L. Hetherington grew up in Chicago and moved to Kona in 1990. He states he looks <br />forward to the opportunity to assist in the planning for Kailua -Kona. <br />Sharron Stanbro stated she first came to Kona in 1964, and has been a resident for the past <br />16 years. She feels it is really important.to do the right,thing for the land. <br />Councilmember Ford commented that she has known Ms. Stanbro for many years, that she is <br />very active in the community, an active farmer, and always willing to help her community. She <br />fully supports her nomination. <br />The nominees are not required to be present at final confirmation before the full Council <br />PC Report No. 10 <br />
