REQUEST: <br /> An ordinance to amend Ordinance 10 -60, the Capital Budget, by adding an appropriation for the County's <br /> share for the construction of the Island Wide Water Spigot Facilities project. This project is being funded <br /> 93% by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the State Department of Health safe drinking water <br /> grant. <br /> Construction of Island Wide Water Spigot Facilities - County $60,000.00 <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> This project is being funded 93% by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the State Department of <br /> Health safe drinking water grant. The request is for funding of the County portion of upgrading, improving <br /> and providing new water spigot facilities, in the Council Districts of Puna, North Hilo, South Kona and Ka'u. <br /> The project is a collaboration between the Office of the Mayor, Department of Public Works, Department of <br /> Water Supply, Department of Parks and Recreation, Department of Environmental Management, State <br /> Department of Health, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. <br /> We are requesting to waive this Bill at the Finance Committee and proceed directly to the April 6, 2011 <br /> Council meeting so that we may expedite the project otherwise we possibly risk losing the grant funding. <br /> SIGNED: 4:v � DATE: <br /> epartment Head <br />
